Triumph for the Ladies section on two fronts

A great day for Penwortham ladies golf section. The handicap team won the Semi-Final and Final of the Lancashire Ladies Northwest Divisional Shield at Clitheroe golf club on the 20th August. They triumphed over Shaw Hill in the morning game and beat Silverdale in the afternoon to clinch the title

They now go forward to the Handicap Shield Finals at Swinton Park Golf club on the 5th September; I’m sure all of the golfing members of the club wish them every success at the Finals

On another note, Gillian Roscoe beat all comers at the Francis Smith Trophy on the same day to win the event, which is organised by the Lancashire Ladies County Golf Association.  Gill will be attending the AGM at Haydock on the 28th November at 11:00am, to receive the trophy
