Update of works being undertaken on second fairway.

After completing all the drain / culvert work around in the woods by the 3rd, KPM commenced work on the 2nd fairway last weekend. Prior to commencing work the fairway was split into two, West (From 150yd marker to Green) and East (150yd marker to Tee). Due to the forecasted weather it was decided to start on the West half of the fairway, working back towards the tee. This work consisted of 1 x Carrier drain plus circa.14 laterals, which run across the fairway to connect up with the main carrier drain. KPM also completed some additional work running a lateral behind the 1st green (but there’s more to be done here) and two smaller drains the left of the 2nd green. Unfortunately, it looks like the work to complete the East side of the 2nd fairway will need to be re-scheduled, as the ground is just too wet and with the forecasted rain this week there would be potential for too much damage to be done to the fairway.

Anyone who has been on the course may have seen the works in front of the 6th tee. This work is as a result from some investigation into why water was backing-up in the ditch around the 6th Fairway. The outfall main pipe which runs under the 5th green was damaged, as a previous repair had, over time, failed. This section of pipe will be renewed w/c 8th March.

Below are a number of videos showing some of the work KPM have been doing over the last week.
